Paté (Katy Perry) 2018
Plasticine on bedroom wall

For a show at Sant’Andrea de Scaphis in Rome, Swiss artist Urs Fischer presented Bliss, a single large-scale sculpture made of plasticine. Almost three meters tall it depicted the bust of Katy Perry, whose face was turned towards the altar, occupying the center of the 8th century deconsecrated church. It was interactive, in this case meaning that visitors were supposed to 'damage' it, and use the material to make little sculptures of their own.

After having found traces of the production of this artwork back in the workshop where it had been originally produced, I decided to use some of the same material to form an ornament in the room I was staying in at the time.
